With the odds stacked against me

As a kid I loved sport. I used to play 24/7. When I was asked what I wanted to do in the future, my answer was always anything that is related to sport. Anything.

By the time I turned 20 years old, I no longer played. Football, rugby, cricket, and many, many others had been thrown to the way side. Put simply, I no longer had dreams of playing sport. Not for a long time. Sometimes I question whether I ever truly believed it was possible. I tend to be a pessimist or maybe a realist at best. I always knew it was unlikely, I always knew the odds were stacked against me.

I was so grounded, I couldn’t fly.
