My eyes confess

I was going through some of my old poetry the other day, and I came across a couple of poems that I’d like to share with you. I wrote this one about three years ago now, a lot has changed since then. What do you guys all think?

“Never shall you look in her luring eyes,

For one, she is the devil in disguise.”

Yes, if only it could be that simple;

I struggle to say how I really feel:

Transfixed, I stare into her deep, brown eyes:

The doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

A smile, unmatched, flickers across her face,

As, like mine, her heartbeat begins to race.

So many feelings running through my mind,

And yet, still, to the truth I remain blind:

From one day to the next, my eyes confess,

Simply that, which my lips fail to address.
