Blindfolded

Recovering from depression is like trying to remove a blindfold, whilst our hands are tied behind our back.
We can no longer see the light nor feel joy or happiness. Depression prevents us from thinking in a clear and rational way. Our world is defined by the negative.
But depression effects more than just the sufferer. Life can be as tough for the family and friends of depressives as it is for the sufferer themselves. That’s why more people than only the sufferer need to respond.
Only we can remove our own blindfold, but we could all do with a little help to loosen the rope tied round our hands.
